December can be a slow month in the publishing world but there are some releases that I’m dying to get my hands on! Two in particular that make me wish I could fast forward time and start reading.
December 4
1. Queen of Air and Darkness – Cassandra Clare
The final novel in The Dark Artifices trilogy. I can’t go into details (because of spoilers and because I haven’t finished it yet), but its a fantastic spin-off series in Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter world! I’ve been purposefully putting off reading The Dark Artifices just so I could marathon them all when this book comes out. Finally, my years of waiting will end!
2. Once a King – Erin Summerill
Another spin off to a fun series, Once A King is a standalone in the same world as Summerill’s Clash of Kingdoms (Ever the Brave) series. It follows Aodran, the young king desperate to end the divide between Channelers (women with magical abilities), and those with no power.
3. My Favorite Half-Night Stand – Christina Lauren
(Not YA) Christina Lauren always bring a smile to my face with their adorable and hilarious romances. Millie and Ried spend an amazing half-night together, but they decide to continue on as friends. When Millie creates a new persona, “Catherine”, for an online dating app, her and Ried form a connection. “Soon, Millie will have to face her worst fear—intimacy—or risk losing her best friend, forever.”(Goodreads). I wasn’t expecting a new Christina Lauren book so soon after the pure joy that was Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating (released this past September). This is the best early Christmas present the world could have given me.
December 18
4. The Kiss Collector – Wendy Higgins
“When seventeen-year-old Zae Monroe gets cheated on by the only guy she’s ever loved, then watches her parents’ marriage crumble, she decides to forget about relationships… [she] proposes a contest with her friends to see who can kiss the most boys during spring break. But what starts as a harmless competition leads to a downward spiral she can’t seem to break free of.” (Goodreads)
December 31
5. Evermore – Sara Holland
The sequel to Everless. I can’t go into details without major spoilers, but it takes place in a world where time is currency. If that doesn’t pique your interest, I don’t know what will.
And those are my most anticipated December releases!
Do any of these books interest you? Are there any books that I didn’t include on the list?
