I read 145 books in 2020, and today I want to talk about my 10 favorite reads of the year.
This was extremely hard to narrow down, because so many amazing books came out last year, but I managed to do it! However, this list is in no particular order (except maybe #1 and #2, because they were truly amazing).
There were also a lot of books I wanted to read this year, that I just didn’t get the chance to. So, if you’re wondering why a popular book isn’t included, it’s probably because I didn’t get to pick it up yet. But don’t worry! I’ll be discussing my 2020 TBR soon, and you might see a few of those books there.
Also, if you’re interesting in hearing all of my thoughts on one of the books, just click the rating! It will take you to my full review of the book, if I have one.
Without further ado, let’s get started!

Tricia Levenseller is one of my favorite authors, and The Shadows Between Us reminded me why. This is an addictive, fast-paced fantasy standalone following a girl determined to marry the king so she can kill him and take the crown for herself. I loved the characters and the romance, and I’m so excited to see what Tricia Levenseller writes next!

This was hard.
There are so many amazing books coming out next month, and narrowing it down to only ten won’t be easy. But somehow, I did it. Keep on reading for the 10 books I’m dying to read next month!

Before we get into the books themselves, I wanted to share with you where I keep all this information. I have a google sheet where I log any book that interests me.
It doesn’t have every release of the year on it, but it has the ones I personally am excited to read. You can also go back and check out previous years, and I even started on 2021!

The sequel to From Blood and Ash, A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire picks up where the first book left off. I can’t say too much here without spoiling book one, but if you haven’t already started this series, you need to.
I may have bitten off more than I can chew.
This month, I want to participate in two challenges:
- ARC August, where you try and trim down your TBR and read as many ARCs as you can (more info here)
- The Disney-readathon, where you pick a team and try to complete challenges to earn points (more info here)
I know that I won’t be able to reach all my goals, but I’m going to spend the next month trying.
