If You Like… Then You’ll Like – 2019 Releases Edition!

Wow, I haven’t done this type of book recommendation in a while. Which means I have so many books to talk about!!

Today, I want to focus on some early 2019 releases. Now, if you don’t know how this works, I’ll list 3 fairly hyped books, and pair them with 3 other books that are somewhat similar in tone, theme, or genre. If you like one of the books, you’ll probably like the one it’s paired with!

Alright, enough talking, onto the book recommendations!

Read More for my recommendation matches, and why I paired them together!

If You Like: We Hunt the Flame (Sands of Arawiya #1) by Hafsah Faizal – (Review: 5 Stars)

Then You’ll Like: The Tiger At Midnight (The Tiger at Midnight Trilogy #1) by Swati Teerdhala – (Review: 4.5 Stars)

Why?

Both of these books feature a fantasy world with very rich cultures. Both books are #ownvoices, and their author’s debut. Both of these books have a focus on an enemies-to-lovers romance with a cat-and-mouse game.

If You Like: King of Scars (Nikolai Duology #1) by Leigh Bardugo – (Review: 5 Stars)

Then You’ll Like: Wicked Saints (Something Dark and Holy #1) by Emily A. Duncan – (Review: 5 Stars)

Why?

Both of these books deal with Saints/Gods. Both of these books have people with magic and people who hate those with magic. Both of these books have a darker tone. Both of these books include fantasy kingdoms inspired by Russia.

If You Like: Soul of Stars (Heart of Iron #2) by Ashley Poston – (Review: 4.5 Stars)

Then You’ll Like: Last of Her Name by Jessica Khoury – (Review: 4 Stars)

Why?

Okay, there’s one main reason for this one. Both of these books are Sci-Fi retellings of Anastasia. That’s a pretty big similarity. But, they also both have friends to lovers. And they both include unique sci-fi worlds!

I have a challenge for you!

Comment below with a book you would pair with Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson!

I just finished it and it was SO GOOD and I don’t know what to do with my life now. If you haven’t read Sorcery of Thorns yet, then try to match it with something based off how much or little you know about it!
