Underrated YA Fantasy Books Everyone Needs To Read (Recommendation Nation)

This all began on tumblr. I was looking for some posts about a specific book series, only to realize that no one else seems to be talking about it. So, I decided that if that fandom doesn’t exist, I will create it myself.

Thats when this slideshow was born. I posted it to tumblr, and just prayed that people would see how great these books are and join the fandom with me.

I’ve included the slideshow down below, but I’ll go into more detail after on why these books were chosen, as well as mention a few other books that deserve more hype.

Read more for even more book recommendations, plus a transcript of the slideshow!

Overall: 3.5/5 Stars

Review in a Nutshell: Roar is a fun fantasy, with plenty of romance and a unique world. However, if you’re only a mild fantasy fan with a big TBR, I would understand skipping this one in favor of others.

“Perhaps death is all that waits for me across the great waters, but better to know death than to choose fear of the unknown.”

Review: Ruined by Amy Tintera

Overall: 4/5 Stars
Characters: 5/5
Setting: 4/5
Writing: 4/5
Plot and Themes: 4/5
Awesomeness Factor: 4/5
Review in a Nutshell:
Ruined is a fun, quick fantasy romance with plenty of action, violence, and political intrigue, that only gets better as the series goes on.

“Kind, reasonable, thoughtful. It wasn’t ‘love’ or an admission of wild, passionate feelings, but he realized he liked her three words more. ‘Love’ would have been easy, another easy lie in a long line of lies. ‘Love’ would be easy to dismiss.”
