12 Summer Romances (6 YA + 6 Adult)

Okay, before I start, I’ve already lied to you. Well, I misled you.

Technically, some of these books don’t take place during summer, so they aren’t all exactly “summer” romances. That said, they all give me a summer vibe, and I would read all of them on a beach, so I think they count.

For me, summer is the perfect time to dive into romances. I always start my summer with a list of cute rom-coms on my TBR, but come August, I’ve completely gone through it.

I figured I can’t be the only one with this problem, so I’ve compiled a different list of a few of my favorites that you can add to your TBR this summer!

June Favorites & July 2019 TBR – Summer Reading!

So… June wasn’t great for me. I thought I was defeating my reading slump, but oh boy was I wrong. June definitely beat me. I did not win this month. That said, I have hope for July. Not much hope, but still.

But enough about slumps and how I failed. Let’s keep it positive and talk about what I loved in June, and my July TBR!

Read on to find out what I’ve read and loved, and what I hope to read next!

Book Release Round Up – 16 LGBTQ+ 2019 Releases

I’m at Pride in NYC today so I thought I should celebrate by, once again, talking about some LGBTQ+ books.

I’m always looking for more LGBTQ+ reads, and 2019 is really stepping up to the plate, so I thought I should compile a list of some great books that I loved or hope to love.

Normally, I would write out a full synopsis for each book, but since I want to talk about quite a few of them (and my synopses always end up a little wordy) I’m just going to try and describe a book to the best of my ability in under 5 words. Let’s see how this goes. Every book will have a Goodreads link in case you want to see the full description of the book!

Alright, lets get started!

Caitsbooks Reviews: Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, 5 Stars

Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston – The Perfect Read for Pride Month (Review)

Overall: 5/5 Stars
Characters: 5/5
Setting: 5/5
Writing: 5/5
Plot and Themes: 5/5
Awesomeness Factor: 5/5
Review in a Nutshell: I spent 95% of my time reading this book smiling. I’m sure I terrified some people, but oh god was it worth it. (Side note: The other 5% was happy crying)

“Thinking about history makes me wonder how I’ll fit into it one day, I guess. And you too. I kinda wish people still wrote like that. History, huh? Bet we could make some.”

A Super Late April Favorites + May TBR

The month may almost be over but I can’t not talk about my favorite reads in April, or not set a goal for myself for May. Admittedly, I don’t have much time to complete that goal, but lets be honest, I never actually read everything on my TBR.

Read more to see the best things I read last month, and the books I’m hoping to adore this month!

What’s New in May? (Top 10 May 2019 Book Releases)

Yes, I know this is super late. I usually try to post these the week before the month actually starts, so I’m a little off. Just blame finals and theater. Now that all of that is over, I’m getting back to my normal schedule and ready to talk about all of the new releases from this month (in no particular order)!

Note: While I usually talk about YA, not all of these on this list are. I’ll label the couple of adult books that are listed here to make it clear!
