May 2018 Wrap-Up

Another 10 books read! Honestly, I feel like my reading slump is going nowhere which sucks. But I did read 3 of the 5 books on my May TBR so I’m happy! Two books were rereads though, so I do wish I read a bit more.

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (Review, A Court of thorns and Roses #3)

[ Edit (12/2020): This review was first posted years ago, and my thoughts on this series have changed since then. I want to reread it before rewriting this review, but in the meantime I want to point out that this series includes harmful representation and lacks diversity in it’s cast of characters. While I still enjoy the books, these issues cannot be ignored. Hopefully I’ll be updating this review soon, but until then, I’ll be adding this disclaimer to all of my ACOTAR reviews and adjusting my rating.]

To avoid spoilers for the first book, I won’t be going into detail on the plot of this series. That said, here is a link to my review of the first book! As you probably know, I’m a die-hard ACOTAR fan, but I will say ACOWAR was my least favorite in the series (-note from the future- that title has now been granted to ACOFAS-). However, that really doesn’t say much because I love this series so much.

Overall: 3.5/5 Stars
Characters: 4/5
Setting: 5/5
Writing: 3.5/5
Plot and Themes: 3.5/5
Awesomeness Factor: 2/5
