My November + December Favorites, and My January TBR

I know, it’s been a while since I’ve done a TBR and Favorites post. December (and early January for that matter) was insane, and I was mostly prioritizing end of year posts and reviews. I wanted to have this posted last week, but I was in Disney, and the WordPress app hates me so I couldn’t get it up on time. So, despite the month being almost over, I still want to share my January TBR.

Also, since I missed my November favorites wrap up, I thought I’d combine it with my December favorites here. Yeah, I got quite a bit to talk about today, so let’s get to it!

November & December Favorites

I ended up reading 130 books in 2019, and 23 of them were split between November and December. Of those 23, here are the ones that really stood out:

The Caged Queen (Iskari #2) by Kristen Ciccarelli

Rating: 5 Stars [Review]

If you haven’t picked up this series, please pick it up! Each book can be read as a standalone, but they really should be read together, because they are just so amazing. This book had all the political intrigue and betrayal I was hoping for and it left me so excited for the final book.

The Sky Weaver (Iskari #3) by Kristen Ciccarelli

Rating: 5 Stars [Review]

Speaking of the final book. Damn it was good. This one seemed to deal more in the mythology, like the first book (The Last Namsara), but this time with more pirates and lesbians. So… yeah I’m in love.

The Queen Of Nothing (The Folk of the Air #3) by Holly Black

Rating: 5 Stars [Review]

I’m still in shock that this series is over. The Queen of Nothing was a fantastic conclusion to a series that has absolutely destroyed me three times over.

The Wedding Date (The Wedding Date #1) by Jasmine Guillory

Rating: 5 Stars [Full Review to Come]

Everyone has been telling me to read this… and they were so right. This book was so much better than I thought it would be, and it got me on the worst contemporary romance binge (which just turned into a romance binge tbh).

The Wedding Party (The Wedding Date #3) by Jasmine Guillory

Rating: 5 Stars [Full Review to Come]

I ended up reading the entire The Wedding Date series in about a week, and not counting the first book, I think this one had to be my favorite. The characters and the romance were all absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to see what Jasmine Guillory’s next book with be.

My Fake Rake (Union of Rakes #1) by Eva Leigh

Rating: 4.5 Stars [Full Review to Come]

This book reminded me why I loved regency romance. It was so funny and entertaining and I couldn’t put it down. Honestly, I just need to write a full review on it so that I can rant about how fun it was.

The Raven and the Dove (The Raven and the Dove #1) by Kaitlyn Davis [ARC, 3/9/2020]

Rating: 4.5 Stars [Review on Goodreads (it will be posted on caitsbooks.com soon!)]

I don’t know what I expected with The Raven and the Dove, but it definitely wasn’t this. This book was fantastic, from the world building to the insane ending. You don’t want to miss it when it comes out this March!

January TBR

Like I said, the month is almost over, but I did have some goals that I wanted to reach (and I’ve even started working on them). I have two main goals this month: 1) read more romance and 2) get caught up on ARCs. The first goal is a little easier- I’ve been dying to really get into the regency romance novel ever since I first read Tessa Dare’s When A Scot Ties the Knot, so I’m more than happy to catch up on some romances. As for the ARCs, well, I’m a big mood reader, so they pose a larger threat. That said, I’m so excited to read these ARCs that I think I’ll be fine!

There we go! I somehow managed to wrap up two months and plan a third all in one post.

What are you planning on reading in January / what have you read already?
