My (Late) December 2018 Wrap Up + Horrible Reading Slump

Yes. I know December was almost two weeks ago. But I still want to talk about the books I read!

Reading slumps are the absolute worst. 2018 had been awful for me in terms of reading slumps. It seemed that every other month, I lost all motivation to read. I’m really hoping 2019 will be better for me!

In December, I barely read. It was awful. I did manage to reach my monthly goal of 10, but there were a lot of short stories and novellas mixed in there to help me out. Read more to see what I actually did manage to finish!

Bold titles have reviews, click the ratings to check them out!

1. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare|| 5/5 Stars

I have been waiting since 2014 to start this series (I knew if I started it back then, I would be miserable waiting for all of them to come out). I’m so glad I waited. Lady Midnight was so fantastic. The second I put it down, I had to grab Lord of Shadows. It was everything it was hyped up to be, and so much more!

2. A Long Conversation by Cassandra Clare || 4/5 Stars

3. Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare || 5/5 Stars

This. Book. Was. Amazing. Honestly, it was so great! And that ending- I’m dead. It killed me. This entire book killed me. It was so perfect and amazing.

4. My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren|| 4/5 Stars

I really loved Christina Lauren’s Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating, so I had some pretty high expectations. My Favorite Half-Night Stand was definitely great, and I do recommend it, but it wasn’t quite as perfect as Josh & Hazel.

5. 300 Fox Way Holiday Piece by Maggie Stiefvater|| 4.5/5 Stars

6. A Minor Raven Boys Holiday Drabble by Maggie Stiefvater || 5/5 Stars

7. Mindy & Raniero’s Halloween by Beth Fantaskey|| 3/5 Stars

8. Mindy & Raniero’s Wedding by Beth Fantaskey || 3/5 Stars

9. Echo North by Joanna Ruth Meyer|| 5/5 Stars

This book was so great! I didn’t know much about East of the Sun, West of the Moon before reading, but now I want to learn more about this fairytale. This book had such beautiful writing and was such a cozy winter read. Also, keep your eye on my blog for an interview with the author!

10. The Wedding of Antanasia Jessica Packwood and Lucius Valeriu Vladescu by Beth Fantaskey|| 4/5 Stars
