Summer is the perfect time to catch up on your Goodreads reading goal if you need to, or push ahead! I want to talk about a few interesting releases coming in the month of July that I’m super excited to read.
July 3
Kiss of the Royal by Lindsey Duga
Princess Ivy is in need of a new battle partner to help her in the war against the forces of darkness. Her pairing up with Prince Zach seems to make sense in terms of skills, except Zach refuses to use the magic that a kiss before battle gives them, no matter how powerful it would make them.
July 10
The Brink of Darkness by Jeff Giles
The sequel to The Edge of Everything, The Brink of Darkness picks up where the first book left off as X is desperate to gain his freedom.
Bright We Burn by Kiersten White
Bright We Burn is the final book in the Conquerer’s Saga. I have been waiting for this release to start the series, so I can’t go into the specific plot details for you. All I know is that And I Darken, the first book, is a brutal and gritty historical novel that takes place in the Ottoman Empire.
Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
By the author of Uprooted, Spinning Silver is a loose retelling of Rumplestiltskin. Miryam must step in to save her family from poverty due to her father’s lack of skill as a moneylender, and luckily she does well, but when she gains the reputation of being able to turn silver into gold she runs into more trouble then she was prepared for.
July 17
All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover
Quinn and Graham’s marriage is in jeopardy. Their mistakes and secrets are catching up to them and they have to see if their love is strong enough to survive. This book is sure to be heartbreaking and make me an emotional wreck. I’m so excited!
July 24
Contagion by Erin Bowman
After receiving an SOS call on a distant planet, the rescue crew is only greeted with dead bodies. In this sci-fi thriller/horror the protagonists must try to piece together what could have possibly caused this disaster.
Endless Water, Starless Sky by Rosamund Hodge
The sequel to Bright Smoke, Cold Fire, a dark retelling of Romeo and Juliet, where a mysterious fog has killed the living and raised the dead.
July 31
The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken
The fourth book in The Darkest Minds series, The Darkest Legacy takes place five years after the events of the previous book, and follows Zu. I won’t go into more detail because – to be honest – I don’t know much else. I haven’t read The Darkest Minds yet and I’m desperately avoiding spoilers. However, above is a link to the Goodreads page so you can find out for yourself! (Yes, I’m aware my job here is to tell you about the book, but I refuse to spoil it for myself).
And there we go! All of my most anticipated July 2018 releases!
What books are you looking forward to this month? Will you be adding any of these books to your TBR?
