June 5
Save the Date by Morgan Matson
Morgan Matson is a contemporary QUEEN, and honestly, I barely know anything about this book and I’m excited. From what I’ve heard, it’s a contemporary following a girl named Charlie as everything goes to hell while they plan her sister’s wedding.
Smoke in the Sun by Renee Ahdieh
The sequel to Flame in the Mist, this follows the events of the first book (and if you read that, you know how desperately I NEED this book). If you haven’t read the first book, it is a fantasy book set in feudal Japan. It has very strong feminist themes and just a little bit of Mulan inspiration sprinkled on top.
Whisper of the Tide by Sarah Tolcser
Now, I have yet to read the first book in this series but now that this is coming out, I just might. All I know about this series is it is fantasy and takes place around a river. If you want more information, click the link^^^
Little Do We Know by Tamara Ireland Stone
Hannah and Emory used to be best friends, but now they refuse to cross the 36 steps to each other’s rooms. In the aftermath of an accident, Hannah, Emory, and Emory’s boyfriend Luke, must come to terms with what happened. From what I’ve heard, this deals a lot with themes of faith, something I usually don’t like, but since it’s Tamara Ireland Stone I need to read it.
Nightblood by Elly Blake
Book 3 in the Frostblood saga, an epic fantasy series full of rebellion and magic. This is another series I’ve yet to begin, but to be honest I’ve just been waiting for it all to be released to marathon it.
June 12
A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir
Finally! Book 3 in the An Ember in the Ashes series is coming and I’m so freaking excited you guys. If it isn’t obvious, I’m a die-hard fan of these books (my dog is named after one of the main characters, Laia). This series is an epic high fantasy inspired by Ancient Rome. Quick synopsis of book one: When Laia’s family is killed and her brother taken, she must infiltrate the academy where the most ruthless soldiers, the masks, are trained in order to get help and rescue him.
June 26
My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, and Brodi Ashton
A companion novel to My Lady Jane, My Plain Jane is a Jane Eyre retelling with a comedic twist. Also, they’re ghost hunters so that will be fun!
The Emerald Sea by Richelle Mead
Book 3 in the Glittering Court series (yet they can all be read out of order). Tamsin is determined to be the best. To enter the Glittering Court and get the highest score, the most glamorous clothes, and the most elite suitor. But when the ship taking her to the new land goes off course, so does her plans.
One Small Thing by Erin Watt
Everything changed when Beth’s sister died, her parents overprotective and monitoring her every move. But when Beth sneaks out to go to a party, she meets a cute guy and decides to keep him her little secret. Meanwhile, he has secrets of his own, and demons he must fight. Including his part in the night Beth’s sister died.
